The beautiful epic score for Stargate: Atlantis composed by Joel Goldsmith, who sadly passed away in 2012.
The voice of Rachel Luttrell, who played Teyla.

Between 2004 and 2008 I had the privilege of writing novels for MGM’s television series, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. It was a fantastic time and I met some wonderful people including my amazingly patient editor, Sabine C Bauer, the publisher, Sally Malcom, fellow author Beth Christensen, and many of the actors who generously gave of their time to help me flesh out the characters they portrayed. Of course, we also a had a bit of fun in the process.

A question commonly asked of me is, why did I stop writing Stargate? The simple answer is, I moved to New Zealand and an entirely different lifestyle. I currently work on conservation and climate change projects. I also worked on a book in collaboration with over a hundred children, and teach creative writing at the New Zealand Writer’s College. Maybe if Brad Wright really does re-boot the series now that Amazon has bought it.

Meanwhile, the contract on all of my Stargate novels has expired, which means I no longer receive royalties from sales (this is perfectly normal for contract tie-in writers). The novels are still for sale through Amazon and the publisher, although I suspect mostly as e-books. If anyone wants a signed copy, I still have a few.

For now, enjoy a short journey to this extraordinary world with: ‘The Rising’ and ‘Beyond the Night’. I was fortunate enough to have heard Rachell sing in real life. Amazing.
